If you are facing any problem in PF Withdrawal or PF Transfer then this is good news for you. Actually, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has added a new feature on the Unified Portal. Due to this, account holders or employees will be able to update their information on the portal when they change jobs.
Till now only employers had the right to update the information related to the employees. Now after the new feature comes, employees will be able to operate it themselves and enter the relevant information.
In fact, in the past, PF accounts were closed due to the employers not updating the date of leaving the job of the employees, the previous company not registering the information on the portal. In such a situation, when the date of leaving the job could not be recorded on the portal of the employee, then they had to face a long process for PF withdrawal or transfer of the amount deposited in the PF account.
However, now you will need UAN number and password to login to the PF portal. Apart from this, before entering the date of leaving or changing the job in the portal, check that you have not already given the above information. For this, you can use Service History.
Update like this by going to the ‘Date of Exit’ website, first of all click on My Account. Then click on ‘Mark Exit’. After this, go to the employer option at the bottom of the next page. Now the next page will open and you will have to give the following information-Date of Birth, Date of Joining, Date of Leaving.
After all these processes are completed you can select any date of the last contribution month by the employee. To know the month of last contribution amount, EPFO gives information on the top panel.
It is noteworthy that when updating these processes, OTP will come on the mobile number registered with Aadhaar. Apart from this, if you have left the job in the recent past and want to withdraw money, then it can be done only after two months of entering the date of leaving the job. This is because the date of exit can be updated only after 2 months of the last contribution made by the employer.
