Zydus COVID-19 Vaccine: There is an important update on COVID-19 vaccination in India. Zydus may be approved for use against COVID-19 virus this week. As per sources from Zee Business, Zydus may get the approval for use in India by this week.
The approval of Zydus COVID-19 vaccine will further strengthen the COVID-19 vaccination drive in the country. The COVID-19 vaccination started in the country with Covaxin and Covishield.
It has to be noted that on August 7, 2021, the central government approved Johnson and Johnson for Emergency Use in India. Interestingly, a single dose of the COVID-19 vaccine of Johnson and Johnson will be sufficient for the people. Minister of Health and Family Welfare Mansukh Mandaviya confirmed the approval of single dose Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine on Saturday.
Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya shared this good news on twitter. He tweeted, “India expands its vaccine basket! Johnson and Johnson’s single-dose COVID-19 vaccine is given approval for Emergency Use in India. Now India has 5 EUA vaccines. This will further boost our nation’s collective fight against #COVID19.”
As per the data from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on August 9, 2021, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 50.86 crore. Cumulatively, 50,86,64,759 vaccine doses have been administered through 58,79,068 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7AM today. 16,11,590 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.
As for the COVID-19 cases in India, India has reported 35,499 new cases in the last 24 hours.
