Telangana: New ‘political beggars’ stand no chance against CM K Chandrasekhar Rao, says KT Rama Rao

HYDERABAD: Asserting that no force or leader has the wherewithal to take on chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and the TRS in Telangana, party working president KT Rama Rao said some new ‘political beggars’ were aspiring to become big leaders but first they have to win the hearts of the people.

At a meeting with party workers in Telangana Bhavan on Thursday, KTR said opposition parties leaders should realise KCR was no ordinary leader and know that they were taking on a leader who had achieved separate Telangana state. He recalled that KCR had fought against former chief ministers like YS Rajasekhara Reddy, N Chandrababu Naidu and N Kiran Kumar Reddy.

“It is better they give up cheap tricks of attacking the CM. If they have to win the hearts of Telangana people and enjoy their confidence, they have to first love them. Only if they win the confidence of the people, they would get some votes,” KTR said.

Taking a dig at new TPCC president A Revanth Reddy, KTR said Revanth getting the post itself was mired in allegations. “Grabbing power from KCR is next to impossible to you (Revanth). If you want to take out rallies, you can do that but we won’t tolerate abusive language and baseless allegations against KCR,” the TRS working president lambasted.

Not sparing BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar either, KTR said after winning a few seats in the GHMC and Dubbak elections, the saffron party overestimated its strength. “But they lost their sitting MLC seat in the graduates constituency, they lost deposit in Nagarjuna Sagar by-election and municipal corporation elections. We defeated a senior leader like K Jana Reddy by fielding a young leader in Nagarjuna Sagar,” he said.

On Sanjay’s proposed padayatra across the state, KTR mockingly said: “It would better for his health”.
