The government imposed a round-the-clock curfew in Goalpara, Jorhat, Lakhimpur, Sonitpur, Biswanath, Morigaon and Golaghat districts as the number of coronavirus cases in these districts continue to increase despite the imposition of certain restrictions earlier. State Health and Family Welfare Minister Keshab Mahanta said that these restrictions would come into effect from July 7 and would remain effective until further orders.

Meanwhile, it was seen that many people in Sarupathar, Barpathar, Naojan and Uriamghat along Assam-Nagaland border under Golaghat district were out on the roads on Wednesday during the restriction period, violating prohibitory orders which was announced to limit the spread of the Novel Coronavirus.
