Amid a buzz around an expected reshuffle of Narendra Modi’s Cabinet, eight states got new governors in what was a major shuffle.
Thawarchand Gehlot has been appointed as the governor of Karnataka. Hari Babu Kambhampati has been made the governor of Mizoram, while Madhya Pradesh has Mangubhai Chaganbhai Patel as its new governor.
BJP leader from Goa and former speaker Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar will now be the governor of Himachal Pradesh.
PS Sreedharan Pillai has been transferred and appointed as Goa’s governor, while Satyadev Narayan Arya was transferred and appointed as his counterpart in Tripura. Ramesh Bais has also got a transfer and is now the Governor of Jharkhand. Haryana now has Bandaru Dattatreya as its governor.
