TRICHY: Hindu religious and charitable endowments (HR&CE) minister P K Sekar Babu on Wednesday said state-run archaka training centres in six places in Tamil Nadu will be renovated and relaunched soon.
Based on the applications received from the aspirants, training would resume as per Saivite and Vaishnavite traditions, he said. “For sure, everyone who applies will be given archaka training. We are prepared to renovate the institutes and relaunch them for addressing the purpose,” Sekar Babu said in Trichy.
The minister said efforts would be taken to get the Unesco heritage site tag for Srirangam Ranganathaswamy temple.
The minister was at Trichy Rockfort Thayumanava Swamy and Uchchi Pillaiyar Temple complex to study the possibilities of launching a rope car facility for senior citizens and disabled people to access the shrine atop the 272-foot-high hillock. After inspection, he said recent technologies and case studies would be used to overcome the hurdles for the proposed rope car project.
