The meeting between Home Minister Amit Shah and CMs of Northeast States will discuss issues pertaining to the region.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to arrive in Shillong, Meghalaya in July.
Home Minister Amit Shah will be in Shillong on a two-day visit.
During his visit Shah will be meeting Chief Ministers of all the eight Northeast States.
This was informed by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in New Delhi on Thursday.
“Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to visit Meghalaya in July. He will be staying in Shillong for two days. However, things are yet to get finalised,” said CM Sarma.
The meeting between Home Minister Amit Shah and the Chief Ministers of the Northeast States will discuss several issues pertaining to the region.
“Several issues including illegal drugs trade, border disputes between the Northeast States among others will be discussed by Home Minister Amit Shah with the Chief Ministers,” informed Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Norably, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma while briefing the media in New Delhi on Thursday said that all Northeast States must keep its characteristics of being part of seven sisters.
“On one hand we say that we are the seven sisters and on the other hand keep fighting among ourselves over various issues. This must not be the case. All Northeast States must keep its characteristics of being part of seven sisters,” Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
