Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on May 21, 2021, declared to cancel the University exams for UG courses and promote the students without examination.
Gujarat UG exams cancelled: CM statement
The CM also granted merit-based progression to over 9.5 lakh students of 2nd, 4th, and 6th semesters in Gujarat universities, except for those in medical and paramedical programs.
The CMO of Gujarat took its Twitter platform to announce the cancellation of the exam today.
The statement of Gujarat CM states, “In a major relief for 9.50 lakh undergraduate college students, CM Shri Vijay Rupani decides to grant merit-based progression to the 2nd 4th and 6th-semester students, other than medical, para-medical courses of all the government and private colleges universities of the state.”
Gujarat UG exams cancelled: Other details
Gujarat’s government has cancelled examinations for undergraduate courses in all government and private colleges across the state.
More details on promotion criteria will be released soon. The evolution criteria for students of medical and paramedical courses will be announced.
Earlier, Gujarat has announced the promotion of classes of 9 to 11 students without examination. Also, the Gujarat education board has cancelled the class 10 examination.
In view of the rising coronavirus pandemic, many universities in different states have either postponed or cancelled their UG PG examinations for 2021.
