Washington D.C. has announced plans to reopen fully in June. The city is planning to lift more capacity limits on June 11. Mayor Muriel Bowser said, “We will be able to all turn up activity in the District all the way.”.
On May 21, the city will remove capacity restrictions from its restaurants and gyms. But bars and nightclubs will maintain a capacity of 50 percent. According to local news, sports venues and national parks will be allowed to welcome more visitors from May 14.
Not only this, Washington, D.C. has decided to attract tourists with cash prizes of up to $25000 to experience the city’s free museums, restaurants, and monuments. Winners will be announced throughout June.
Some of the prime tourist attractions in Washington, D.C. have already reopened for tourists, including George Washington’s Mount Vernon, Ford’s Theatre and the International Spy Museum, among others.
On May 14, other famous attractions in the city including the National Gallery of Art, National Portrait Gallery, and National Museum of African American History and Culture will also reopen.
A number of live music concerts are also scheduled at iconic locations like the Black Cat and the John F. Kennedy Center.
