NOIDA: The district inspector of schools (Gautam Buddh Nagar) has issued a notice to principals of CBSE, ICSE and IB schools to continue with the online classes for the current academic session of 2021-22 until further notice.
DIOS Dharam Vir Singh said, “The notice is to inform schools that they can’t stop classes or information about them on any ground and if any school does so, they can make a complaint which will then be dealt with.”
The education department, in its earlier order, said that online classes should continue for middle school till April 11. However, this order (dated April 5) by the DIOS is applicable for all classes.
Meanwhile, parents’ associations welcomed the decision and said that the order is justified given the sudden surge in Covid cases.
“We welcome the decision. Most parents were also unsure about the once-a-week class given the rise in Covid-19 cases,” Manoj Kataria of Gautam Budh Nagar Parents Welfare Association (GPWA) said.
Shivani Jain, president of All School Parents’ Association (ASPA), said that schools should emphasise on imparting online education to all students.
“Schools should pay attention to the highlights of the notice that no child should be deprived of online classes, which automatically means schools can’t turn out a child on the ground of fees and other charges. Online classes should continue till the number of cases come down.”
