If more than one floor comes under scrutiny, the whole building will be turned into a COVID-19 containment zone.
New Delhi: In a step to check the transmission of COVID-19, the authorities in Noida have said that the entire floor of the multistorey buildings will be sealed if a positive case is detected. Gautam Buddh Nagar DM Suhas LY on Monday (April 5, 2021) stated that the surveillance will be intensified in the COVID-19 containment zones.
He said, “After one COVID-19 case on a floor of a multistorey building, the entire floor would be declared containment zone.”
The Gautam Buddh Nagar DM added that if more than one floor comes under scrutiny, the whole building will be turned into a COVID-19 containment zone. The containment period will reportedly last for 14 days.
The step comes amid the rising coronavirus infections across the country.
Gautam Buddh Nagar has so far reported more than 26,000 COVID-19 cases, of which, there are as many as 400 active cases. It has also witnessed 91 deaths. In Uttar Pradesh, there are 19,738 active COVID-19 cases, as per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s data on Monday morning.
Earlier in the day, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine at a Hospital in Lucknow. The BJP leader expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Health Ministry after getting the vaccine jab.
“I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Health Ministry for making the vaccine available free of cost. I also thank the scientists of the country. The vaccine is completely safe. We all should take it when our turn comes,” CM Yogi expressed.
He also appealed to the people to take all precautions even after taking the vaccine and said that the new wave of coronavirus is the result of our complacency in observing COVID-19 appropriate behaviour.
