On Wednesday, several people across the country faced technical snags while linking their PAN cards with Aadhaar at the last minute, and in the meantime, shared memes to describe the situation.
March 31, 2021, was the last date set by the Government of India for linking PAN with Aadhaar but on Wednesday evening, the Income Tax Department extended the last date for linking of Aadhaar cards with PAN to June 30.
However, those who made an attempt to link Aadhaar with PAN before the date was extended, faced server errors and connectivity issues while registering themselves on the website owing to the last minute rush on the Income Tax Department e-filing portal.
In view of the situation, social media was flooded with hilarious and sarcastic memes. Some users requested for the deadline to be extended while others announced that they have almost
memorised their PAN and Aadhaar numbers even if they failed to register on the website.
A Twitter user wrote with reference to the popular Gangs Of Wasseypur 2 dialogue, “Dada aur bhai ka sabka PAN card Aadhaar se link karega re tera Faisal.”
Another user shared a still from the Amazon Prime web series Mirzapur 2, saying, “Woh toh nahi ho payega.”
