Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to give a much-needed generation change to its two highly popular SUVs – XUV500 and Scorpio. While the new XUV500 is slated to arrive near around April, the next-gen Scorpio will see a release before June 2021. Both SUVs will witness significant changes in terms of design, features and engine mechanism. Recently, we have brought you new spy pictures of the 2021 Mahindra Scorpio revealing its production-ready design especially the more aggressive front styling.
– Similar to the new Thar, the next-generation Mahindra Scorpio will ditch its existing architecture for the all-new GEN-3 platform. It’s likely to improve the SUV’s safety quotient and performance.
– Compared to the current generation, the new one will be bigger in size and more spacious. With the stretched dimensions, the SUV might also be offered with the front facing third row of seats. Though, it could be reserved for the higher trims.
– The spy pictures reveal that the 2021 Mahindra Scorpio will come with dual-tone Brown and Black interior theme with Beige upholstery.
– While the bench-type seat for the second row will remain intact, the SUV might get a factory-fitted sunroof.
– With the generation change, the Scorpio will receive a new touchscreen infotainment system supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The list of features might also include Head-Up Display (HUD), multi colour speedometer, digital analogue instrument cluster, leather seats, electrically adjustable front seats, vehicle telematics, reverse camera, cruise control, multiple airbags and more.
– The new Mahindra Scorpio 2021 will carry a much evolved design with thoroughly revised front fascia. The production-ready version will feature a signature grille with vertical slats, twin-pod headlamps with LED DRLs, revised bumper with integrated fog lamp assembly at the front end.
– The new Scorpio will be the second model to feature the brand’s new logo that will debut on the new Mahindra XUV500.
– The bold creases and pronounced wheel arches with 17-inch tyres will enhance its new side looks. At the black, the SUV will receive newly-designed LED taillamps and slightly tweaked bumper and skid plate.
– As mentioned above, the new Mahindra Scorpio 2021 will come with the new engine setup. The SUV will be offered with the new 2.0L turbo mStallion petrol and 2.2L turbo diesel motor options.
– The gasoline unit will deliver power close to 152PS and 300Nm of torque, and the oil burner will promise power worth 132PS against 320Nm of torque.
– The 2021 Mahindra Scorpio can be had with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
