Tata Motors will introduce the long-awaited turbocharged version of the Altroz hatchback on January 13, 2021. The new model will be called the Tata Altroz iTurbo, claims leaked document. The new Altroz iTurbo will be positioned against the newly launched Hyundai i20 1.0L turbo and the Volkswagen Polo GT TSI.
Ahead of the launch, variant-wise features of the new Tata Altroz iTurbo has been leaked on the internet. The 2021 Altroz petrol will be offered in 6 variants – XE, XM, XM+, XT, XZ and XZ+ – and the turbocharged petrol engine will come with the top 3 variants. The report also claims that the turbo unit will only come with manual gearbox option; however, automatic (Dual-Clutch automatic transmission/DCT) will join the lineup at a later date.

The leaked document claims that the silver colour option will be discontinued. A new blue colour option will be added to variants from XM+ onwards. Powering the new Tata Altroz iTurbo is a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. This engine is capable of producing around 110bhp of power and 140Nm of torque.
