WhatsApp beta for Android 2.21.1.1 is the first update for 2021 and today WhatsApp is starting to ask to accept new terms of services to some users:
We have previously announced that WhatsApp was going to update their terms of services 1 month ago, revealing the release date as February 8, 2021.
Accepting these new terms won’t change your WhatsApp experience: your chats, messages, calls and status updates are still end-to-end encrypted.
WhatsApp is working on a feature that allows to use your WhatsApp account on multiple devices at the same time, without requiring an active Internet connection on the main device.
Today, WhatsApp is working on the possibility to offer WhatsApp Web BETA to their users, so they can try the multi-device feature.
Unfortunately the feature isn’t available yet, but we can offer a preview.
When WhatsApp is ready to offer a public WhatsApp Web Beta, in WhatsApp Web/Desktop settings (on WhatsApp for Android), there will be a new option to join the beta:
WhatsApp is considering the idea to offer a public beta for WhatsApp Web in order to let the user try the new experience to use WhatsApp without keeping your phone connected.
Being under development and not ready yet, some features might not be available, for example the possibility to mute, archive and delete chats and messages: their support will be added in a future build.
Unfortunately we haven’t details about a possible release date, but when the feature is ready, we will surely announce it from our channels. Stay tuned!
