Political advisor of actor-turned-politician Rajinikanth, Tamilaruvi Manian, said on Saturday that their political party which is slated to launch in January 2021 will fight on all 234 seats in the next Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.
“We will contest on all 234 seats in next Assembly elections. Our politics will be spiritual politics unlike the politics of hatred, currently being practised. We will not slam anybody,” news agency ANI quoted Manian as saying.
On Thursday, putting an end to speculation, superstar Rajinikanth said he will launch his political party in January 2021, and the formal announcement regarding the same will be made on December 31.
Addressing the media he said that his plans were affected because of the coronavirus pandemic and he did not want to be careless.
Saying that the time has come to transform Tamil Nadu, the superstar said, “Will work as much as possible for the people. If we don’t do it now change will never happen.”
He also said his victory in politics will be the victory of the people. He said, “It all depends on the people of Tamil Nadu. If I win when I enter politics, it will be the people’s victory.”
In a brief statement released on Twitter, Rajinikanth said that his party would fight the Assembly election in 2021 and “emerge victorious”.
Rajinikanth, who announced his entry into politics in 2017, at a time when Tamil Nadu faced a vacuum after the demise of AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa and ailing DMK chief M Karunanidhi, tweeted: “A political party will be launched in January; Announcement regarding it will be made on December 31.”
Tamil Nadu is set to go to Assembly elections in 2021.
