New Delhi | Jagran Education Desk: In what seeks to ally fears among students about dates of CBSE Board Exam 2020, the board officials have confirmed that the CBSE is not considering cancellation of exams.
According to an NDTV report, the education board is holding deliberations about the scheduled of CBSE Board Exam 2020 while monitoring the situation in view of the coronavirus pandemic and the consequential lockdown across the country.
“The discussions are still going on regarding the make decision on pending board examinations and a proper announcement on dates will be made only after analysing the situation after May 3,” NDTV quoted a board official as saying.
The Board had earlier postponed the pending examinations of both Class 10 and Class 12 students in March before the lockdown was announced in the first phase on March 24.
Earlier this month, the CBSE announced that will conduct class 10 and 12 examinations for only 29 main subjects which are crucial for promotion and admission to higher educational institutions.
It will be conducting only important papers for Class 12 while no papers for Class 10 will be conducted this year except the rescheduled exams of northeast Delhi students, where exams were postponed in view of the religious violence in February.
CBSE had also announced it will not conduct Class 10, 12 exams for schools located outside India as many of them are affected sue to lockdown.
The board has said that it will provide 10 days’ notice before resuming the board exams.
The board had decided to promote class 1 to 8 students. It added that Class 9 and 11 students should also be promoted based on their school-based assessments. It is worth mentioning that CBSE was unable to hold exams on eight days after March 18 due to novel coronavirus.
