Navjot Singh Sidhu stirred up a hornet’s nest with his comment on Pulwama terror attack. The former cricketer-turned-politician said that terrorism has no religion, no nation, which created a huge outrage on social media. Twitterati asked fans to boycott The Kapil Sharma Show and demanded Sony TV to sack Navjot Singh Sidhu from TKSS.
Kapil Sharma and Sony TV had kept mum on the issue but today Kapil finally broke his silence. The comedian who was in Chandigarh to take a pledge for a Drug Free India for an Art of Living event spoke to the media and opened up about the issue.
Kapil Sharma spoke to zeenews.com and said, “Navjot Singh Sidhu is busy with his prior commitments due to which Archana Puran Singh is shooting with us.” Recently, Sony TV posted a TKSS promo featuring Archana Puran Singh.
Reacting on the whole controversy he said, “These are very small things, or can also be a part of propaganda. I feel banning someone or sacking Navjot Singh Sidhu from the show (The Kapil Sharma Show) is not the solution. We need to look for a permanent solution.”
Talking about the Pulwama attack, Kapil said that he is with the government. “We are with the government but still we need a permanent solution. The cowardly act in Pulwama that killed our soldiers shouldn’t be forgotten and the culprits should be punished,” he added.
