Dubai: Motorists across the country can now pay fines issued by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in 12 instalments through credit cards from select banks.
The offer is valid for all vehicles registered in different emirates, however, the instalment offer is valid only on fines issued by the RTA.
“RTA has launched this service to enable clients to pay fines due to RTA in easy instalments through credit cards over a period of one year without incurring bank interests,” said Ahmad Al Kaabi, Executive Director of Finance at RTA’s Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector.
The service is currently available for those holding credit cards of seven banks such as Mashreq Bank, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Dubai Islamic Bank, EmiratesNBD, Noor Bank, Emirates Islamic Bank and Commercial Bank International.
Al Kaabi added that more banks will offer the service shortly.
To avail the offer, the payment process is required to be completed through RTA DUBAI smartphone application.
Importantly, there is no limit to the accumulated fine amount that can be paid through instalment.
Motorists in Dubai can also pay their RTA fines through cheques, however, this offer is restricted to Dubai registered vehicles only and allows instalments only if the accumulated fines amount to Dh5,000 for individuals and Dh20,000 for companies.
