Those who have not been able to get unique identification number (Aadhaar), will have an option to file their Income tax returns without any hassle.
The Delhi high court on Tuesday has directed the income tax officials to put an option out tab in the ITR portal that will allow people to file the returns without having an Aadhaar number.

Justices AK Chawla and Ravindra Bhatt said that the officials will have to accept the returns filed before the deadline, which is July 31, this year.
No timeline has been provided by the court as of now on how soon the income tax department should puts the option out tab on the portal.
