Slithering Surprise! Bengaluru Couple Finds Cobra In Xbox Package From Amazon, Company Responds; WATCH Viral Video

A Bengaluru couple, both software engineers, were in for a shock when they discovered a cobra in a package they had ordered online from Amazon on June 23. The couple, who eagerly awaited their Xbox controller, instead found the venomous snake entangled in packaging tape. Fortunately, the snake was unable to cause harm due to being stuck. The couple promptly recorded the incident and shared it on social media. According to reports, the package was handed directly to them by the delivery partner, ensuring it was not left unattended.

“We ordered an Xbox controller 2 days ago from Amazon and received a live snake in the package. The package was directly handed over to us by the delivery partner (not left outside). We live on Sarjapur Road and captured the entire incident on camera, plus we have eyewitnesses to the same,” the customer explained, as quoted by India Today.

Aaraynsh, a user on X (formerly Twitter), shared the video, stating, “A family ordered an Xbox controller on Amazon and ended up getting a live cobra in Sarjapur Road. Luckily, the venomous snake was stuck to the packaging tape. India is not for beginners.”

The cobra, identified as a Spectacled Cobra—a highly venomous species native to Karnataka—was safely captured and released away from public areas, the report said.

Amazon Responds

In response to the incident, Amazon Help tweeted, “We’re sorry to know about the inconvenience you’ve had with the Amazon order. We’d like to have this checked. Please share the required details here, and our team will get back to you soon with an update.”

The video elicited a range of reactions on social media. One user quipped, “Buy 1 get 1 free.” Another said: “Guess you got from amazon… not Amazon”.

Another said, ”Losing my trust in online delivery these days. A few days ago, delivery boy asked me to collect the product from their regional office because he thought my home was too far for him.” A third added, ”New fear unlocked.”
